Job Description

  • Organize and lead laboratory practical’s;
  • Prepare materials for experiments and research activities, at all academic levels;
  • Set up, operate, and maintain various analytical equipment and arrange for the repair of any faulty equipment;
  • Maintain inventory of consumables and equipment following departmental and university guidelines;
  • Identify potential safety hazards in the working environment, take corrective measures where possible, and report to the Health & Safety officer;
  • Participate in community engagement;
  • Perform any other duties as may be required

Requirements

At least a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Hons) or a related field, from a recognized institution of higher education; at least one (1) year experience in a chemistry laboratory; strong laboratory skills and proficiency with various analytical techniques and instruments; experience in a research setting and a Masters of Science in Chemistry will be an advantage
