Purpose Of The Position

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Grade 12.
- Minimum of one year’s experience in a restaurant as a waiter in an establishment that is a 5- or 4-star hotel or restaurant practice.
- The Computer Literacy Test: MS Office
- Basic math skills to handle changes and payments.
Key Accountabilities
- Begin by welcoming guests and customers, then seat them at the tables they have been assigned and serve them a menu.
- Create and live Your Own and Live the O&L persona, grounded in “caring genuine, passionate, and authentic”.
- Offer guests a high-quality service when they enter our restaurant outlets.
- Personalize guest service in accordance with preferences. Ensure an ongoing relationship with guests.
- Keep a smile on your face be welcoming and acknowledging everyone with a smile and give a warm greeting verbally in line with the order of service.
- Offer meals and drinks line with the preferences of the customer
- Make sure that you have accurate food and drink orders, making sure that the food preferences or limitations are documented and made known to the kitchen staff and also logging it into the POS system.
- Inform the dining room staff of your order or dining preferences for the cooks in order to make sure that meals are properly prepared and delivered in a the quickest time.
- Serve food and drinks quickly and precisely, making sure that the food and beverages are served in a timely manner, with an appropriate temperature and presentation.
- Offer menus to guests and answer any questions regarding the menu, and offer suggestions on request.
- Make payments in a timely manner, processing cash, credit card, and electronic transactions as required.
- Printing bills and the process of payment for bills (cash and credit card).
- Monitor tables and respond to guest request for refills or extra items, or changes to their food orders.
- Procedure for taking-away orders and preparation of them.
