Description
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Artisan – Electrical to join our dynamic team in the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission new electrical and electronic equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on motors, production machines, and other equipment using diagrams, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Identify sources of mechanical problems by observing equipment, listening for irregularities, and using precision testing instruments.
- Dismantle and remove defective parts using hand and power tools; assess parts for wear and damage.
- Fabricate or repair parts using machine shop tools and instrumentation.
- Perform routine and ad-hoc testing of all electrical systems and circuits.
- Maintain and upgrade existing electrical systems, components, and wiring.
- Design and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Qualification: National Vocational Certificate Level 3 (Electrical, Instrumentation, or Millwright).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Language & Computer Skills: Good command of the English language (written and spoken) and computer literate.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision.
