Purpose

The person in charge will be accountable to provide exceptional customer service throughout checking out. The candidate should have an easygoing manner, a keen concentration on details and the capacity to process transactions with accuracy and efficiently. The incumbent will play an important part in ensuring a pleasant customer experience.

Requirements

  • Grade 12.
  • A one (1) year of experience as a Cashier or equivalent role.
  • Experience with the points of sale (POS) software.
  • Excellent computer literacy capabilities.
  • High degree of precision.

Key Result Areas

  • Enter price code in the till.
  • Search for item on computer, If the item isn’t price codified.
  • Count floats to ensure the accuracy.
  • Perform electronic and cash transactions.
  • Note cash sales in a the manual invoice book when your system is down and transfer to the computer after it has been up and running.
  • Conciliate daily transactions.
  • Refund Customer for Credits or credit account if an additional invoice is needed.
  • Participate in bi-annual stock market shares.
