Let’s be honest: doing laundry isn’t exactly “glamorous.” But doing laundry while traveling to the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Bahamas? That is a whole different story. This is your chance to trade your normal routine for life at sea.

The Quick Details

Here is the snapshot of what you need to know about ship life:

Minimum Age21 Years Old

What Would You Actually Do?

You aren’t just using a standard washing machine like you have at home. You will be working in a massive, industrial laundry facility on the ship.

You are the person who makes sure thousands of guests (and crew members) have clean sheets, towels, and uniforms every single day.

  • Operating Machines: You’ll load and unload giant industrial washers and dryers.
  • The “Mangle”: You will feed sheets and tablecloths into a huge ironing machine (called a flatwork ironer or mangle) that dries and presses them flat.
  • Folding & Sorting: There is a lot of folding. You’ll sort towels, separate colors, and stack everything neatly for the housekeeping team.
  • Chemicals: You need to know how to handle laundry detergents and stain removers safely.

Why Work on a Ship?

The work is hard and the laundry room gets hot, but the lifestyle is why people do it.

  • See the World: When you have time off in port, you can get off the ship and explore beaches, cities, and islands that other people pay thousands of dollars to visit.
  • Save Money: You have zero bills. You don’t pay for rent, food, electricity, or water. Almost every dollar you earn can go straight into your savings account.
  • Meet People: You’ll live and work with people from over 60 different countries. It’s like a mini United Nations onboard.

Do You Qualify?

Carnival is looking for people who have done this kind of work before.

The Requirements:

  1. Experience: They require at least 1 year of experience in a full-service laundry (like at a hotel, resort, or commercial laundry factory).
  2. Age: You must be at least 21 years old.
  3. Language: You need to speak conversational English.
  4. Physical Strength: This is a workout. You must be able to lift at least 60 lbs (bags of wet laundry are heavy!) and stand on your feet for long shifts.

How to Apply

If you are ready to leave land behind and start your career at sea, here is how to do it.

  1. Go to the Site: Visit the Carnival Shipboard Jobs Page.
  2. Create a Profile: You’ll need to register on their recruitment site.
  3. Upload Resume: Make sure your resume clearly shows your 1 year of laundry experience. If you worked at a hotel, list the machines you used!

Pro-Tip: If the job says “Unavailable,” don’t panic. Ship jobs open and close constantly as crew members finish their contracts. Set an alert or check back in a few days.

Good luck!
