They are currently hiring Production Associates specifically for their Powerwall team.

If you don’t know what a Powerwall is, it’s that giant battery that goes on the side of a house to store solar energy. It’s one of their most popular products, and they need people to help build them.

What You Would Actually Do

This is a hands-on manufacturing job. You aren’t sitting at a desk. You are on the factory floor, working with a team to assemble the battery units.

  • Assembly: You’ll be using tools to put parts together.
  • Operating Machines: You might be pushing buttons on high-tech robots or monitoring equipment.
  • Moving Stuff: It’s a physical job. You need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stand for long periods.
  • The Schedule: Tesla usually runs on a “compressed work week.” This means you work long days (12 hours), but you get 3 or 4 days off in a row. It’s tough, but the long weekends are nice.

Why Is This a Good Move?

Working at Tesla is intense, but they take care of their people better than most warehouses.

  • Day 1 Benefits: This is huge. You get medical, dental, and vision insurance the day you start. You don’t have to wait 90 days.
  • Stock: You get the chance to buy Tesla stock at a discount.
  • The Shuttle: If you live in Reno or surrounding areas, they often have a free shuttle bus that takes you to the factory so you don’t have to spend gas money driving out there.
  • Career Growth: A lot of people start here and move up to become Leads, Techs, or even Engineers if they go back to school.

Do You Qualify?

You don’t need a college degree for this. In fact, you don’t even strictly need manufacturing experience (though it helps).

What they are really looking for:

  1. Reliability: This is the #1 thing. Can you show up on time, every single day?
  2. Hard Work: Can you handle being on your feet for 12 hours?
  3. Safety: Can you follow the rules so nobody gets hurt?
  4. English: You need to be able to read instructions and communicate clearly.

How to Apply

Tesla gets thousands of applications, so apply directly through their site.

  1. Click the Link: Go to the Tesla Careers Page.
  2. Apply: You’ll create a profile and upload your resume.
  3. Be Ready: If they call you, be prepared to talk about how you work well in a team and how you handle physical work.

Good luck!
