Main purpose of the job
To assist, manage, plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate all functions, duties, and operation of the Traffic Section and to
ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors within the boundaries of Swakopmund.
Key performance areas
The successful candidate will be responsible to execute the following duties:
Support the Divisional Head to manage the Division and the job activities of subordinates.
- Ensure that initial and follow-up investigations of Traffic offenses and events are conducted.
- Develop and ensure the correction functioning of improved systems of operations.
- Municipal Support Services
- Supervision of Employees/Traffic Officers
- Administration
- Management of Sectional assets i.e., fleet, tools, equipment
- Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM)
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree at NQF Level 7 or high in Road Traffic Management and/or Metropolitan and Traffic Policing or equivalent, as well as a National Basic Traffic Diploma.
- Five (5) years of appropriate working experience in Traffic Law Enforcement fraternity of which, three (3) years should be served at supervisory level.
- A valid Code A and CE driver’s license with valid Professional Authorisation.
- No Criminal records.
- Registered as per Section12 of RTTA, Act 22/1999. Examiner of Licences, Traffic Officer, Examiner of Vehicles, Inspector of Driver Licenses and Road Transport Inspector
